This novella is perfect for those who:
• want more of the dirty delta series
• enemies to lovers
• sweet novella
• some spice

It was nice to see Angelo and Mia’s story get a little bit of extra attention.

I do wish I re-read the previous book to remember more details but I think novella did a great job of refreshing my memory.

To be honest, this isn’t my favorite couple. I think I enjoyed the other books more just because they were longer, slightly unhinged, and a great time during reading!
Despite being a novella, I did struggle a bit to want to finish 😅 but I am glad I did, as the last 10% did help me increase its rating.

I am looking forward to what’s next in the series despite this not being my favorite one (I absolutely loved CICC and had a good time when reading FPOW).

The first two recommendations are in the thriller genre. This was instantly what my mind went to when wanting something easy to read but keeps your attention. Ironically, I've read all of these via audiobook and HIGHLY recommend you do the same as well. But no worries, these stories are so good that if you want to read physical or on ebook, it will still get the job done.

The last one, I'm sorry, but it's apart of a 7-book series which... isn't finished yet, but if you end up really liking the first one at least you can continue the journey. The 5th book will be releasing in November of this year!

What I've loved:
Shout out to my local bookclub for this pick. I've seen this book so much but never picked it up and I am glad I listened via graphic audio. I never listened to a mystery/horror with graphic audio but it was chef's kiss. I absolutely loveeeed it.
There are discussions and references to domestic life through the "typical" women's lens, centered in the 90s. It felt real because it referred to things in a realistic way. This is a twist on your typical vampire story and in this, I actually feel like they aren't the only monsters at play here. This was a bookclub hit and so many readers enjoyed this.
If you so happen to read the physical, there are questions in the back that really make you rethink about the story you read. This isn't a typical "who dunnit" type of mystery, it's more about the power and downfalls of friendships and the power in standing in your truth.

What I wanted more of: 
I actually don't have any complaints. I do wonder, the special interests that Patricia's son is invested in, I wonder what was the point of highlighting that so frequently?

Patricia's husband get's on my ever last nerve. I wish I had more from his consequences towards the end of the book. 


Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I wish I didn't wait so long to read it but if you have the option to listen via graphic audio, I HIGHLY recommend it.  

This romantasy was a delight! Life got busy so it took me a little longer to get through but this is ideal if you like fun fantasy, still with high stakes and chaotic. 

I started with the physical ARC and then switched to my e-reader as it is available on Kindle Unlimited! 

Okay, not back to the review —

It made me laugh! I was nervous, irritated, curious, and surprised. Full of action, filled with humor, and the stress is there too. 

I really enjoyed Shanora’s writing style. Ultimately I gave this book a 4 stars out of 5. I am not sure if you would consider this a cozy fantasy or not but it definitely gave me that vibe but still full of action + high stakes. It’s a fantasy you can just jump in, get what you need, and enjoy. 

Overall, I enjoyed it — just wasn’t obsessed with it but its still a really awesome tale with great storytelling and I will probably re-read in the future. 

Oh and did you see how GORGEOUS the first edition is (with the sprayed edges)?! I was so happy to get my hands on a copy.

6 stars. I absolutely enjoyed this book!

You know when people say it had them “giggling and kickin’ their heels”? Well, that doesn’t happen for me often. Like RARELY. There I was gasping, laughing, swooning, AND kicking my heels while reading this book. 

Iris Ashbourne and Elliot Cross (the two main characters) were so well written. I could feel their relationship build throughout the story, and it just made every dialogue, scene, and detail feel intentional. These are two “monsters” who come together to ensure everything doesn’t fall apart while keeping their own secrets.

This adult paranormal romance is set at a university, and I devoured it. I loved it. This is the beginning of an interconnected standalone series, and I cannot wait to continue the journey.
